La Scie Tourism Association Inc.
Tourism has become a growing industry in Newfoundland and Labrador in recent years accounting for more than a billion dollars in revenue to the province's GDP. Although La Scie receives in the order of 3000 – 5000 visitors annually, not a lot has been done to promote the area as a destination for travellers.
In early 2019 the La Scie Town Council sent out a call to residents seeking volunteers to form a Tourism Association in the town. As a result of this initiative, in April of 2019 the La Scie Tourism Association was formed, and in January, 2020 it became an incorporated body. Today the Association has become a visible presence in the town and is actively developing sites in the town and providing web based information about the area.

OUR MISSION
The La Scie Tourism Association is an ambitious, non-profit group that aims to increase tourism in our community and local areas.
By providing cultural experiences as well as developing historical sites and local tourist attractions our association is committed to promoting and marketing our area as a tourist destination.
GOALS OF THE ASSOCIATION

- Create printed media as well as social and on-line media sites and pages to advertise what the area has to offer
- Develop/restore historical sites and points of interest to make them presentable to the travelling public.
- Advertise the natural wonders that exist within our area.
- Educate the general population in the area on opportunities that are available in the growing tourism sector in the province.
- Support local townsfolk and entrepreneurs in developing tourism related business ventures.
